It starts with a few candies and chocolaty treats at Halloween. Then you sit down for a family feast at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Add to your waist the black-eyed peas, cabbage, and pork for luck in the New Year, and the holiday season has set you back a few extra pounds. So, how do you avoid weight gain while enjoying those decadent desserts? Here are five nüflo-inspired at-home exercises you can do whether you are at home or visiting family this holiday season.
Get your nüflo on as the anti-slip outsole is ideal for this first exercise that strengthens and sculpts your muscles, glutes, hamstrings, thighs, calves, and buttocks. Standing erect with shoulders straight and eyes forward, take one step forward by lowering your hips until your knees are extended at a ninety-degree angle. Ensure that your knee is above the ankle to safely and properly engage your core. While maintaining your weight in your heels, push your body back up to the first position. Repeat it twenty times on each leg.
2. Sumo Squats
You are probably beginning to work up a sweat by now. As your nüflo are made with water-resistant neoprene material, sweat will not be a problem for you to perform a sumo squat. Start with your feet a bit more extended than your shoulders. Turn your toes outward at a 45-degree angle. Using your hands for balance, lower your body into a sitting position all the while engaging your core. Hold the position for fifteen seconds. Take a deep breath and raise your legs up into a standing position. Repeat 30 times.
3. Resisted Bird Dog
Now that your core is engaged, move down on all fours to do a resisted bird dog which
will engage your core and backside. You can use a resistance band around your nüflo barefoot wear to elevate results. While on all fours, extend the arm and leg that has the resistance band on outward into a straight line. Keep your core and glutes engaged when bringing your arm and leg back into a resting position. Repeat 20 times on each side.
4. Raised Leg Toe Touch
As you do not want to feel guilty for those holiday treats, you need to work on your abs with a core-inspired raised leg toe touch. Lay on your back with your arms straight above your head. Raise your heels about three inches from the floor. Lift one leg to a ninety-degree angle while using the opposite hand to touch your toes. Lower into a prone position. Repeat this exercise on each leg twenty times while doing two complete sets.
5. Wall Sit
Khloe Kardashian advocates the 60-second wall sit during the holidays. It works the entire body and allows you to meditate while in this position. Simply stand against the wall and bend your knees at a 90-degree angle as if you are in a sitting position. The wall and cushioned insole of your nüflo will keep you in a comfortable position for 60 seconds. Repeat this exercise twenty times while also practicing breathing or meditation.
